A Gallifrey One special event. We are proud to bring you our first-ever symposium on Doctor Who academic topics, a special presentation of short lectures by convention attendees on a variety of topics, selected by our own academic chairs Paul Booth and Joy Piedmont, including the keynote address "Aca-fans, Showrunner-fans and Actor-fans: Fan Experience as a Professional Resource?" by Matt Hills and two general sessions: "Doctor Who in a Cultural Context" with presentations by Paul Cornell ("Tides of Time"), Derek Kompare ("We’re All Stories in the End: Doctor Who Fandom on the Shelf") and Inna Kanevsky ("Understanding the Other"); and "Doctor Who and Issues of Identity" featuring presentations by Clay Dockery ("The Last of the Time Lords and the Search for Self-Actualization"), Dustin Hausner ("The Doctor: A Warrior, A Hero, A Peacemaker?") and Heather Berberet ("The Secret Psychology of Series 10").
