It all started with Netflix, Amazon and Hulu crossing the boundaries into original on-demand programming for a monthly fee. The future of television is here, good or bad, and we’re caught up in the battle. From subscription services like HBO and Showtime bypassing cable and going direct to the consumer with Internet-only subscriptions, to the sudden and surprising move of a broadcast network creating its own subscriber programming with one of the largest IPs in media at its core (that’d be Discovery), we’ll take a look at how best to navigate the new reality of television viewing today.
