Bon Voyage (of the Damned): The Gallifrey One 2018 Launch Party
Gallifrey One 2018 begins with our special pre-convention party; join your fellow attendees for a great ice cream social, take advantage of the cash bar on the convention floor, and stick around to catch up wtih friends. Then stick around... our convention disco dance, DJ'd by the one and only Paul Condon (making a long awaited return to Gallifrey One!) will launch inside the party a bit later (probably around 9pm) and karaoke can be found in Program C starting at 9:30! Ticketholders can pick up their convention badge on Thursday (3pm-6pm or 8pm-10pm); you must have it to join us for the pre-convention events!

Murray Gold, music composer and arranger for Doctor Who since its return in 2005, joins us Saturday late afternoon in our main auditorium for a live performance; using his own equipment, he will perform selections from his score for the series with narration and clips. An event that is not to be missed; the auditorium will fill to maximum capacity and there will be a short intermission before it starts for seating and setup. (Please note: Gallifrey One cannot seat all convention attendees – our auditorium seats about half the event – so if you want to see this, you will need to be there early.)

Our Saturday night showcase, hosted by Tony Lee: enjoy a procession of costumes from Doctor Who and the science fiction & fantasy world on our main stage, as costumers display their talents and compete for best-in-show and other awards. Then, while our judges go off to judge this year’s entries, we’re thrilled to welcome back the Mysterious Theatre 337 players as they take on the David Tennant Doctor Who serial "42" with hilarious results. (Please note that MT337 is a live scripted performance; audience participation is not allowed.) Also note that for the first time we are NOT clearing the audience after the end of Saturday daytime programming so there will be no line-up for this event. Remember: masquerade entrants should stop by the Masquerade Table, right at the head of the Exhibitor Table Hallway on Friday (and there will be a mandatory meeting for Masquerade participants at 10am Saturday.)

Gallifrey One’s 28th annual charity auction event, taking place starting Sunday at noon. This year, as we’ve announced, the charity auction – as always, named in honor of our dear friend Bob May from Lost in Space – will be benefitting the Pop Culture Hero Coalition, the patron charity of our guest and friend Chase Masterson that advocates for action against bullying and all forms of harassment through engagement with the science fiction, fantasy, comics, gaming and genre fan community.  More details at www.popculturehero.org. Donations for the auction are always accepted prior to the event; you can drop off your donations at the first door down the Exhibitor Table hallway marked Charity Auction Donation Room.
